All the information in the world cannot make up for lack of good sense and ability, so if
you don't feel comfortable or don't have the resources to safely and effectively perform
work on your Discovery, take it to someone and have it done, there are plenty of very
competent LR shops around that I am sure can do what you need at a far lower risk - and
far higher price.

My professional education is in the social sciences, and have been working since 1991 on a norwegian college, doing research in management learning, and being involved in mangagement development. My personal homepage shows the work I'm doing: mainly writing. I'm an academic - period!!!
I have no education or in any other way learned anything at school, courses etc. on the maintenance or repairs of vehicles in general or Land Rovers in particular.
My competence in the area covered by this site is thus very limited, and the incompetence is vast.
What I've learned, is by reading (workshop manuals, LR Forums), asking questions on forums, fiddling myself - or working with friends. I can take no responisbility for my own shortcomings - other than living with the things I do wrong or paying others to help me off or repair if I ever ruin something on "Otto".
It is your own responsibility what you do with the tips & hints on these pages. My intention is to let you draw upon the experiences I've struggled with. You might experience other problems than me, you might find your truck is different from mine - it is all up to you what you do with the text written on these pages.
